Meet the crew

Captain - Karlo Pokrajcic
Captain Karlo, born in Croatia in 1982, is a skilled and passionate skipper with over 12 years of sailing experience. Holding a BSc in Economics, he initially navigated a career in sales, marketing, and digital marketing. However, his love for the sea, sparked during childhood sailing trips with his parents, eventually led him to pursue his true calling.

Karlo's journey as a captain and skipper began after he earned his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification in 2015. Since then, he has captained luxury yachts up to 72ft in the Adriatic, Ionian, and Caribbean Seas, and delivered vessels up to 90ft across the Mediterranean and Atlantic. With more than 15,000 nautical miles under his belt and in his sails, including two Atlantic crossings (northern and southern routes), Karlo’s dedication to sailing continues to grow.

When not at sea, Karlo is an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying activities like mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, running, and wakeboarding. He also has a passion for cooking, carpentry, and yoga. Non-smoking and health-conscious, Captain Karlo brings both expertise and a love for adventure to MASTERMIND.

Karlo speaks Croatian and English fluently as well as basic German and Spanish.

Chef - Anita Reizovic
Born in Croatia in 1987, Anita brings a unique blend of professionalism, creativity, and heartfelt hospitality to MASTERMIND. With degrees in both Tourism and Hospitality Management and Economics, she spent over a decade in the corporate world before answering the irresistible call of the sea.

Since 2020, Anita has been pursuing her true passion - cooking at sea - working as a chef aboard a range of luxury catamarans, including 25m supercats. She has sailed over 13,000 nautical miles, completed two transatlantic crossings, and explored the Bay of Biscay, the Mediterranean, the Ionian, the Adriatic, and the Caribbean Sea.

As Anita says herself: “The ocean and food are my big loves, so I’ve combined them by working as a chef on various vessels. Sailing for me is not just a job - it brings me so much joy, which I express in happily doing my daily tasks and sharing good vibes with the crew and guests on board.”

In her free time, Anita is a true lover of life: she enjoys sailing, surfing, yoga, cooking (always!), traveling, reading, and connecting with nature. She speaks both Croatian and English fluently and brings warmth, skill, and a genuine passion for hospitality to every charter.

Anita looks forward to welcoming guests aboard MASTERMIND and delighting them with fresh, flavorful cuisine - always prepared with care and a smile.

Stewardess - Nika Laginja
Born in the coastal city of Rijeka in 1993, Nika combines a creative spirit with a deep passion for the sea. After earning a Master’s degree in Sculpture, she naturally gravitated towards the hospitality industry, launching her career in 2016.

With a strong background in fine food and wine, Nika expertly recommends local delicacies - from premium Istrian olive oils and cheeses to artisanal pralines, spiced chocolates, and regional truffles. This expertise stems from five years spent working in a high-end delicatessen, where she regularly hosted gourmet tastings and curated degustation experiences.

Her journey into the world of luxury yachting began in 2020 when she joined the crew of the Riva Corsaro 100 NIKITA as a hostess. Today, she brings her warm, genuine sense of hospitality to MASTERMIND, always eager to ensure guests feel welcomed and cared for.

On board, Nika is known for her positive energy, attention to detail, and seamless adaptability. Good to know

We want to make sure you are well prepared and informed for your trip. Here are a few things you might want to know before you set off.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is an amount paid to the yacht before your charter. It's a fund to cover expenses such as food & drink eaten on board, fuel and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, you’ll receive a detailed document showing how the APA was spent, and any remaining balance will be refunded to you. if in doubt about what is included, ask your HELM broker.
The Captain will let you know if you're about to overspend and discuss your next steps, which wil generally be a bank transfer to top up the funds.
We recommend (10-15% for the Med) (15-20% for the Caribbean/Bahamas) of your charter fee, which will be split evenly among the crew (it's a nice touch to bring a blank envelope or a thank you card in advance).
We'll share your Captain's details with you a few weeks before your charter. We can set up a group chat with your group and the captain to discuss plans before you go.
