Captain Vasilis has been a respected figure in the yachting and catamaran industry since 2004, bringing more than 20 years of hands-on experience to the helm of Namaste. With extensive knowledge of both sailing and motor vessels, he specializes in the operation, maintenance, and overall management of recreational yachts.

Highly regarded for his strong leadership and personable nature, Captain Vasilis is communicative, reliable, and detail-oriented, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences at all times. His adaptability and calm approach allow him to handle changing conditions with confidence and efficiency, consistently meeting the highest standards of service and safety.

In addition to his command skills, he possesses a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and marine equipment, enabling proactive maintenance and problem-solving onboard. Captain Vasilis’s dedication to safety, professionalism, and creating unforgettable voyages makes him a trusted and invaluable presence aboard Namaste.

Chef: Nicolas Chaldaios

Born in 1993, chef Nicolas graduated from the prestigious Private Cooking University DOMI in Athens in 2012. Since then, he has diligently worked his way up from a chef assistant to positions such as sous chef, chef de partie, and chef de cuisine, honing his skills in various restaurants and hotels throughout Greece. Specializing in Greek and Italian cuisine, Nicolas is known for his meticulous attention to detail and ability to adapt to different nutritional plans. As he embarks on a new chapter in the yachting industry, his hard-working nature, eagerness to learn, openness to challenges, and positive attitude will undoubtedly continue to drive his success. Fluent in both Greek and English, he effortlessly communicates among his guests and crew members alike, as well as navigates easily in diverse culinary environments, making him a valuable asset on board Namaste.


Stew/Deckhand: Giannis Markigiannis

Giannis joins the Namaste crew as a deck/stew, bringing hands-on experience from his previous year as a deckhand. Known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail, he is adept at maintaining the vessel’s decks and assisting with daily operations to ensure smooth sailing. Giannis combines practical seamanship skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor, making him a valuable member both on deck and in guest areas. Always ready to lend a hand, he supports the team in tasks ranging from line handling and maintenance to helping steward the comfort and safety of everyone on board. His dedication to teamwork and his eagerness to learn new skills make him a reliable and enthusiastic presence on Namaste.

Good to know

We want to make sure you are well prepared and informed for your trip. Here are a few things you might want to know before you set off.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is an amount paid to the yacht before your charter. It's a fund to cover expenses such as food & drink eaten on board, fuel and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, you’ll receive a detailed document showing how the APA was spent, and any remaining balance will be refunded to you. if in doubt about what is included, ask your HELM broker.
The Captain will let you know if you're about to overspend and discuss your next steps, which wil generally be a bank transfer to top up the funds.
We recommend (10-15% for the Med) (15-20% for the Caribbean/Bahamas) of your charter fee, which will be split evenly among the crew (it's a nice touch to bring a blank envelope or a thank you card in advance).
We'll share your Captain's details with you a few weeks before your charter. We can set up a group chat with your group and the captain to discuss plans before you go.
