Corfu Yacht Charter

Pick up your yacht from Gouvia Marina. Before you do, allow time to explore Corfu Town, about 15 minutes from the marina. Colourful Venetian buildings overlook the harbour and the Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. For the best views of the town and the Ionian Sea beyond, aim for the lighthouse at the fortress.

A great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the Ionian Sea around Corfu. Stretch out your sailing day with a quick visit north, and maybe stop off for lunch at Kalami. Set in a horseshoe-shaped bay, it is the perfect place to drop anchor and enjoy your first swim in the crystal clear water. Kouloura, in the next bay is another gem worth visiting. End the day by heading back south to Mandraki Harbour and enjoy dinner in Corfu Old Town. With verdant pine forests, warm saltwater lakes and a wealth of aquatic life, Mljet is one of Croatia’s most beautiful islands. Polace is an excellent natural harbour on the northern coast of Mljet known for its waterfront ancient ruins. A 5th Century Roman palace dominates the village, hence the name “Polace”. The village hosts a number of pretty quayside restaurants perfect for taking in the surrounding islands and is a 40 minute walk from the famous lakes.

Spend the morning sailing leisurely down to the south of Corfu and across to Paxos, one of the most charming of the Ionian Islands. Your destination will be Lakka at the northern tip, a small, traditional Greek fishing village. The glorious old townhouses marbled streets and Renaissance architecture within its imposing medieval walls. Meander through twisting streets to the beautiful church in the centre where there are many restaurants serving top-quality local cuisines. There is also sizeable marina with good facilities.

Today it’s over to mainland Greece, specifically Parga. Sailing time is approximately 3 hours across the Ionian Sea and the destination is a lively town with excellent tavernas, bars and a bustling harbour. En route, it is worth stopping at Antipaxos, a tiny dot of an island that is almost uninhabited. Excursion boats visit daily from Paxos, so avoid the two main beaches and head for a smaller, quieter cove where you will be undisturbed.

Head up Greece's coastline to the Syvota Islands. Along the way, drop by Mourtos, a small fishing village on the mainland and then on to Sivota Mourtos. This is a small village tucked in between three surrounding islands, and is famed for stunning sunsets.

Today's route takes you 16 nautical miles north along the mainland coast, up to the tranquil village of Sagiada, at the foot of numerous hills. Great beaches abound and Sagiada makes for a very welcoming final destination, with numerous tavernas along the waterfront.

Make the most of your final day, with a leisurely stretch across to the island of Corfu and back to Gouvia Marina, stopping off for lunch and a swim in the bay underneath the Old Town.
