When to Visit
The best time to visit the South of France for a yacht charter is from May to September, when the weather is warm and sunny.
Summertime temperatures average 29°C (85°F), while the shoulder seasons of spring and fall are a little cooler at 25°C (78°F).
Across the summer season, winds average a very pleasant 6-10 knots. Beware of the mistral though, a fickle Provençal wind that can blow strong N gusts along the coast, heading out from the Rhône Valley towards Corsica. The good news is the mistral is usually confined to the extreme ends of the season, when the weather fronts are less settled.
July and August can be very busy, so if you're looking for a quieter experience, consider visiting in May, June, or September.
