Where to Sail in Sydney?

Circular Quay

Circular Quay is the heart of the iconic Sydney Harbour, with unrivalled views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

It is the most picturesque destination on a yacht with a glass of champagne on board as the sun is setting.

Whether you are on a day yacht charter or beginning/ending a longer journey, you can't really beat this location.

VIVID is a great time in Sydney to be on a yacht charter to be able to see all of the lights (and sometimes drone shows).

Seven Day Sydney Itinerary

Day One: Barangaroo / Sydney Superyacht Marina / Rushcutters Bay

Once onboard, you’ll head towards Athol Bay (near Taronga Zoo) where you’ll anchor for the night.

Day Two: Manly

Set sail toward Manly, where you can use the tender to visit Shelly Beach for snorkelling. There are lots of places there for ice-cream or fish and chips by the beach. Afterwards, navigate past Spit Bridge, where you can drop anchor in the secluded Sugarloaf Bay.

Day Three: Watsons Bay

Today’s destination is Waston’s Bay, where you can enjoy seafood at the famous Doyles on the Beach. If you enjoy a bit of an activity, you can walk the tracks along the Gap Bluff for incredible ocean views. In the evening, you’ll more at Rose Bay, which is home to some of the most exclusive waterfront mansions.

Day Four: Pittwater

Head north, towards Broken Bay, where you can anchor at Palm Beach (an iconic destination renowned as the filming location for Home and Away). While in the area, you can hike up the Barrenjoey Lighthouse for panoramic views.

Day Five: Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park

Today is a great day to get out the paddlesboards or kayaks to navigate around Cowan Creek and America Bay. There is a lot of local wildlife in America Bay and you can also visit a waterfall while you are there. After a day exploring, you can anchor in Jerusalem Bay which is a deeply recessed and peaceful anchorage.

Day Six: The Hawkesbury River

Pass Dangar Island as you sail further into the Hawkesbury River where you can tender ashore and visit a riverside cafe or enjoy a nice BBQ on the aft deck. That evening you can return to Pittwater and moor near the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Newport.

Day Seven: Coastal Return to Sydney

Enjoy a final swim in The Basin, which is known for being able to see native wildlife like wallabies and goannas. Cruise along the northern beaches towards Sydney Harbour where you can enjoy a final sunset across the city as you return to the marina.
