Sailing The Grenadines is quite the experience with turquoise waters, great winds and incredible anchorages you wont be disappointed.

Some of the best spots include locations such as Ronde Island, Carriacou, Union Island, Mayreau, Sandy Island and many more.

Our Co-Founder, Peter Harrison-Hill, recently sailed The Grenadines and came back with a full list of recommendations on where to anchor and why.

Read on to discover the gems of The Grenadines...

Carriacou

Sandy Island

On the North West of Carriacou, you will find Sandy Island.

Co-Founder, Peter says "this is easily one of the prettiest anchorages I’ve ever been to, absolutely stunning sandy beach with palm trees."

Across the bay you can find Paradise Beach club, they serve excellent food, provide greats vibes and good value for your money.

Peter's Tip: They will collect you with their water taxi which is included if you eat with them!

Tobago Cays

A must visit for any Grenadines trip!

Expect to see some of the bluest waters and stunning views in every direction.

Here, you can anchor or pick up a mooring buoy in a couple of places hidden behind the lee of the small islands, or even just in the shelter of the reef if it's not too windy.

There is a Turtle reserve on Baradal island where you can swim with Turtles, they are not fazed by humans and you can get to within touching distance. Incredible!

Go for a beach bbq in the evening, usually sold by the same guys that will help you pick up a mooring.

Union Island

Clifton Harbour

Clifton Harbour is a beautiful spot sheltered from a big reef and shallow water giving some of the most turquoise sea you will ever see.

On land, a colourful town with market stalls and some good bars and restaurants are also waiting for you.

This is an excellent spot for kite surfing and wind surfing behind the shelter of the reef - perfect for those looking for some water sports during your trip.

You can also clear in/out of the Grenadines at the customs office here.

St. Vincent

Mustique

Mustique is a pristine island, famous for being the home to one of Princess Margaret's homes. This is now available to rent on the south side of the island!

On the eastern side of the island you will find Macaroni Beach, which is regarded as one of top ten beaches in the world!

Peter's Tips: Basil's Bar is great fun for dinner and cocktail. They also host a Jump Up Party on a Wednesday with live music and dancing. Its $220 EC for a 1 to 3 night stay on one of the mooring buoys, so we stayed for 2 nights and spent some time exploring the island.
