Chartering Ad Astra, From Deck to Guests
Step onboard Ad Astra with two charter brokers who previously worked on crewed yachts.
Updated October 6, 2025

For charter brokers, Tom Healy and Tom Gallian, stepping aboard Ad Astra wasn’t just another charter, it was a journey seen from all sides.
Both had worked on yachts before coming ashore as brokers, so experiencing life as guests gave them a fresh appreciation for the magic of a crewed yacht charter.

Favourite Part of the Yacht
Ad Astra offers plenty of places to unwind, and each Tom had their favourites.
Healy: “The foredeck stole it for me: sun loungers, a hot tub, and cocktails brought right to you. The crew were extremely welcoming and instantly made you relax into your holiday.”
Gallian: “I was drawn to the aft deck. It had plenty of seating areas inside and outside that isn’t found on a lot of yachts. The 360° views are a great design for soaking up every ray of sunshine. Being brand-new, everything felt immaculate, and you can tell it is being looked after.”

Best Days at Sea
Adventure and luxury went hand in hand throughout the trip.
Healy: “Serifos was my favourite spot. A quiet, charming island with a great viewpoint, perfect for an afternoon drink. Onboard, the food was great and there was always more than enough. Greek hospitality at its finest!”
Gallian: “For me, it was the day we anchored as a group. The sea toys came out; Seabobs, a Jetski, paddleboards. Hard to not love that. But I will say, a special mention to when they put the sails up and switched the engine off – it was oddly peaceful as the yacht picked up speed and glided so smoothly. There’s probably no greater feeling on the water”.

Exploring Greece
Each island revealed a different side of Greece.
Healy: “Every stop had its own personality. No two islands were alike, and each had its individual charm. Visiting in shoulder season meant it was quiet, but everything was still open.”
Gallian: “The water was incredibly clear, and seeing the ancient temples from the sea really did feel like blending history with adventure.”

A New Perspective
Coming from crewing backgrounds, both Toms were struck by how different it felt as guests.
Healy: “There really is no other way to explore this part of Greece without chartering a yacht. Each island has its own rhythm, and you don’t waste time unpacking bags every day. You just live the adventure.”
Gallian: “I know how hard crews work behind the scenes, and to witness it from the guest side gave me a whole new appreciation. Every detail, every moment, is crafted for you.”
