MIRA SOL | 2014

The moment our adventure began, we were greeted with a warm welcome from our incredible crew, Captain Julle and Chef Anna. Throughout the week, we moved seamlessly from island to island, discovering stunning views at every turn. Captain Julle was always ready to deploy the water toys or tender us to the perfect snorkeling spots, effortlessly satisfying every “paradisiacal whim.”

And then there was Chef Anna’s cooking—simply divine. From breakfast to dinner, she presented us with meals that were as creative in their presentation as they were delicious. She even graciously shared her recipes and hosted a baklava-making demonstration.

Julle’s dry wit and Anna’s spirited conversation truly made them the heart of this journey; by the end of the week, we felt like part of their nautical family.

This trip meant the world to us, as we traveled in honor of my late mother, who would have cherished every moment. We left the MIRA SOL with lifelong memories and new friends. Cheers to hoping our paths cross again soon!

Mira Sol is a beautiful, comfortable, and clean yacht with plenty of room for all of us to stretch out and enjoy both private time and fun times together. The yacht was very well ventilated, and the crew did a great job making sure our cabins were well air conditioned when we were using them. Julle and Anna were the most wonderful crew imaginable. We enjoyed their company so much — they were professional, warm, and full of personality. Every meal and every snack was incredible, with fresh, healthy, delicious food that was beautifully presented. Anna was especially thoughtful in making sure our gluten-free guest was well taken care of. Julle and Anna truly stole our hearts. I personally had tears in my eyes from the morning of our departure all the way through the airport. We cannot imagine a charter without them and will absolutely be asking for them again. We also loved the BVI, enjoyed our time in St. John, and especially loved Anegada. We are already talking about a repeat charter in 2027.

Our family enjoyed a fantastic vacation aboard Mira Sol over the New Year holiday! We toured the BVIs with Captain Julle who was knowledgeable, dependable and beyond capable. We visited Anegada, Jost van Dyke, the Baths on Virgin Gorda and snorkeled the caves on Norman Island. Our chef and first mate, Anna prepared superb meals and snacks for our family. I even came home with a few new recipes! She was attentive to our food preferences and provided a wide variety of meals over the week. The yacht was also well stocked with drinks and munchies. As an added memorable bonus, Julle and Anna planned a fun evening for us to ring in the new year! Our goal was to relax on this vacation, which we did, but Mira Sol came equipped with water toys, games, WiFi and televisions to help keep us comfortable and entertained as well.

We thought about this trip for a long while. Our research led us to this boat. But most importantly, to you two. The boat served its purpose perfectly, but you both made the trip memorable.

This trip exceeded our expectations in many ways. You both were so accommodating. Julle, we felt completely safe and your knowledge of the islands helped us enjoy them fully within the week’s time. And Anna, what can we say? The lovingly prepared meals were spectacular—truly magazine worthy. No detail left unturned! We appreciated all the personal touches and how our rooms were kept clean daily.
We enjoyed our time together and getting to know you.

Julle was so accommodating to all of our requests. While he perhaps took a while to warm up, by the end, his droll sense of humor often had us all in stitches. He definitely had a knack for finding great mooring spots and would often solicit our input on where to go and what to do. Sails were smooth and very well prepared. Anna became like a Greek mother to all of us. While Captain Julle was strong and stoic, Anna was outgoing, loving, and joyful. She always knew when to offer food or drinks and was an outstanding fishing guide as well.

Anna is an exceptional chef. Each meal was prepared with love and joy. Presentation was outstanding. As for drinks, all we had to do was give her a brief description (i.e. Rum and fruity) and a gorgeous concoction was waiting for us in minutes.

We were able to do and see everything we wanted to see with plenty of time for each stop. Additions of Cooper Island was great and a bonus stop at Maho Bay in St. John on the last day of the trip was one of our favorites.

A fantastic adventure. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thank you for showing us the Bahamas. What a beautiful place and wonderful Family memories….. Nurse shark, turtles, caves, lots of snorkeling, iguanas, pigs and more! The Greek food was spectacular. Especially the octopus and lamb. Adventure our family will treasure. Thank you ❤️!

I really treasure and appreciate all the sailing across the Bahamas! Thank you so much for the best adventure from feeding pigs and iguanas from sailing through little storms and teaching us about the water in Bahamas. This has been one of the best weeks of my life! You both have been exceptional with everything you have done. Julie, you are the example of the “perfect” captain; always watching out for safety and getting us to the right place in the right time! I would really LOVE to come back and have another week with my husband As he would love to learn from you! Anna, I have loved- loved- LOVED how you cook so much in such a small space and EVERYTHING was so GOOD! I will take your recipes with me and remember how you made my 50th birthday trip the trip of a lifetime. You both have truly made our week of sailing the BVI’s so memorable. Bravo! To both of you!

We had a terrific time on our charter we took in February. It’s been a busy
couple of months for us since we returned but this review is long overdue.
Captain Julle Gylling and Anna were terrific and I would highly recommend them.

We all gained 5+ pounds because of Anna’s cooking. She could be a chef in any 5 Star fine dining restaurant. Really, really good. She kept us full, fat and happy the entire week.
Captain Julle is a terrific Captain. He knows the BVI very well and took us to some places that we didn’t even have on our list. He was always safe and did his best to make everybody comfortable on the boat. They made our catamaran vacation a wonderful experience.

Captain Julle and Anna are a great team and the Yolo II owners are very lucky to have them. They are very nice people. Can’t wait to do this again. As a matter of fact we have given their names to several of our friends who are also planning trips this year or in 2023.

Thank you and Anna so much for an incredible week. The food and service was exemplary and the yacht so well appointed. My vertigo finally subsided Saturday and I was able to travel back to the US as planned. Very sorry to have had that attack while aboard YOLO. I'll recommend you to anyone interested in a crewed BVI charter.
