South of France Charter
Chic, sophisticated, sun-drenched - the Mediterranean coast of France is a wonderful place for a yacht charter. With great snorkelling, bright flora and exquisite wine and food, a Riviera charter is as much about the activities as the actual sailing.
The main charter base is in Port Pin Rolland, just outside Toulon, and gives superb access to St Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, and Monaco, as well as Marseille and the Camargue. The opportunities are endless for great sailing and exploring in sumptuous surroundings.
Here is a sample seven-day itinerary sailing from the wonderfully located Port Pin Rolland

7 Days around the French Riviera
A short transfer from Marseille (1h25) or Toulon (1h) airports takes you to Port Pin Rolland, a great charter base in the heart of the French Riviera. Board in the afternoon, gather your provisions and enjoy a leisurely evening in this quintessentially French town.
Set sail on a gentle first day across to the brilliant Porquerolles, where you can explore this idyllic island and start your holiday in the best possible way.
Continue east along the coast and you will reach the beautiful Bonporteau beach, where you can anchor in benign conditions. The large bay has a sheltered, sandy beach and warm waters that glisten in the afternoon sun. Holding is good, but if the sea is a bit rough, you can head to the harbour of Cavalaire, just around the next headland.
Set off after breakfast to arrive at St Tropez in time for a leisurely lunch along the famous promenade, watching people and superyachts come and go as you sip on a glass of something cool and refreshing. Stroll through the charming old town, do a spot of boutique shopping and rub shoulders with the jet set in the old port. This is the Riviera at its most glitzy.
On your way back west, you will enjoy a slightly longer sail into the prevailing breeze before you reach the picturesque Port Cros island. Drop your anchor in the large bay to the east of the island, or pick up a mooring buoy under the gaze of the 16th century Fort du Moulin. Once settled, pop on your mask and flippers and explore the magnificent Port Cros seabed, teeming with underwater life.
Today is your longest sail - a great 35NM stretch along the coast to the secluded Ile des Embiez. Moor up in the harbour and explore the island. This charming, tranquil little island does not allow cars - bicycle is the preferred method of transport here. Embiez's rocky coastline has beautifully clear blue waters, great for swimming and snorkelling. The oceanographic museum is well worth a visit if you have time before a lovely dinner at one of the waterfront resturants - we recommend Le Garlaban.
Today is the end of your charter, and time to make the short 15NM trip back to Port Pin Rolland. Enjoy a relaxed morning and head out for a short downwind leg before returning to base and making the most of your final evening. We suggest taking a walk along Les Sablettes and dropping in to a beach bar for a sundowner. Bliss!
