Explore amongst the 60 stunningly beautiful islands which lie in the Sir Francis Drake Channel, with a surplus of gorgeous bays and coves to dive and snorkel in.
This 7-day itinerary will give you a flavour of the destination and offer some inspiration. But the joy of a private yacht charter is that you are completely free to follow your own schedule, in your own time.
The BVIs is an unparalleled sailing destination and there are a great range of bareboat, skippered and crewed yachts available.

7 Day Itinerary
Upon arrival in Tortola, embark your yacht and set sail to Cooper Island where you can splash in the sea, soak up the luminous sunsets and snorkel your way through gorgeous coves and coral gardens. The island is home to Manchioneel Bay, where you can find a private resort and marina. There's a beach for relaxing and soaking up the sun, a coast for kayaking and a rum bar with over 1000 different rums for you to try! Not to mention the famous Cooper Island Beach Club - perfect for a cocktail. Venture to the West side of the bay and snorkel at Cistern Point, or go diving in Wreck Alley just opposite - a popular diving site for those who lovely exploring ship wrecks.
Set off to The Indians for a mid-day anchor and discover some of the best snorkeling in the BVI's. Explore a cluster of four rocky pinnacles rising from the sea amongst rich marine life and vibrant corals. Following that, be sure to explore Dead Mans Chest, located just off Peter Island. The island is renowned for its association with the legendary pirate Blackbeard. Legend has it that Blackbeard marooned the mutinous members of his crew here with nothing but a single sword and a bottle of rum. These days it is a National Park and uninhibited - home only to lizards, geckos, aquatic gardens and scrub bush. This is a great spot to anchor for lunch! Finish up in Sopers Hole for the evening, found on the western side of Tortola, close to Frenchman's Cay. Moor up in the marina for a lively laid back evening, and wander the charming harbour where you'll find an abundance of eateries, cafes, boutiques and restaurants. Nearby, theres a gorgeous snorkel and dive destination in the blissful blue seas, with idyllic coves and beaches strung like pearls nearby.
Head over to Jost Van Dyke and spend your morning on White Bay where you can relax on the beautiful stretch of white sandy beach and swim in the crystal blue waters. Be sure to stop by the famous Soggy Dollar Bar for lunch on White Bay, and enjoy some seafood whilst overlooking some of the best views in the BVI! After lunch sail East around the headland to Great Harbour and moor up in the harbour there, one of the most remarkable spots within this Caribbean archipelago. This spot is known as the 'party island' and is the home of the renowned 'Foxys Bar'. This sheltered harbour is found at the bottom of 1000ft peaks and is the perfect place to spend your evening under the stars. Great Harbour is a picturesque bay boasting stunning views and tranquil waters.
Set off early and head to Diamond Cay where you can explore the Bubbly Pools, which are natural rock pools shaped by volcanic formations. An extremely unique, once in a lifetime experience! Once thoroughly explored, sail to Cane Garden Bay and anchor for the perfect lunch spot. This is a must-see spot with white fringed beaches, gorgeous views and the chance to hike Sage Mountain and see the magnificent rainforest within. Spend the afternoon in the rum distillery or glass factory learning all about their local products! As the day closes to an end head to your final destination, Scrub Island - featuring a resort, spa and marina. This is the perfect spot to relax for the evening, with a luxurious and tranquil ambience for a serene escape! During your stay indulge in watersports including diving, snorkelling, paddleboarding and kayaking whilst exploring the vibrant coral reefs and exotic marine life.
Set sail towards Guana Island for an early-morning snorkel at Monkey Point! Explore the beautiful marine life through crystal clear watersm and admire the privaterly owned island of Guana. In the afternoon, head to Leverick Bay and spend the afternoon partaking in watersports including snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. There are several restaurants and bars in the area, providing visitors with a range of dining options. One notable establishment is the Leverick Bay Resort and Marina, which houses a restaurant serving local and international cuisine and often hosts live music events. Leverick Bay is also relatively close to other attractions on Virgin Gorda, such as Gorda Peak National Park, making it a convenient base for exploring the island.
Take a lovely early morning sail to The Baths on Virgin Gorda and enjoy the surroundings while its still quiet before 10:30am! You are spoilt for views and entertainment, hike all the way through to Devil's Bay and splash in small pools and caves in the area. After spending a lovely morning at The Baths, set sail to Marina Cay - an idyllic spot hidden behind a reef tat lies between the islands of Camanoe and Scrub. This little island is known for its remarkable natural beauty, serene atmosphere, and association with the late author Robb White, who once owned the island. Dine in the restaurant at Pusser's Marina Cay Hotel, spend the night under the stars and soak up the relaxed atmosphere with charming views overlooking the pristine, turquoise waters!
Spend your last day around Salt Island, the perfect spot to anchor and enjoy your yacht's water toys or laze on the beach in complete tranquility. If you enjoy diving, then head to the wreck of the RMS RHONE from 1867 which is situated west of Salt Island and is one of the best dive sites in the Caribbean. Furthermore, just east of Salt Island is shipwreck alley, a haven for divers full of wrecks to explore! Finish up on The Bight on Norman Island, situated on the edge of the Frances Drake Channel, lying close to Tortola leaving only a short journey back to base the next day! Legend has it that treasure is buried here and was perhaps the island behind Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Bight is one of the most scenic harbours, offering over 100 moorings and is an ideal spot from where you can dive and snorkel, or set off on some fantastic hiking trails. Any stop here is not complete without a visit to Willy T bar or Pirates Bight oceanfront, pavilion style beach club & restaurant.
On Day 8 return to Tortola and bid the British Virgin Islands a very fond but very sad goodbye!
